Rasheed has sought release of political prisoners languished in jails since decades and an end to misuse of so called Public Safety Act. In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said “Though withdrawing FIR’s is not something much to cheer about, but it may bring some relief to those who felt victim to circumstances and most of whom were wrongfully booked for one reason or the other. However government needs to move a step further by releasing all people including Masrat Alam, Qasim Fuktoo, Aasia Indrabi and many others including those lodged in Tihar jail after NIA raids. Mehboba Mufti needs to know her responsibilities and owes an answer that why are people like Masrat Alam being booked again and again under draconian Public Safety Act. She must take steps to facilitate shifting of Kashmiri prisoners from Tihar jail back to valley, rather indulging in blame game with her opponents." Er Rasheed added that such steps if taken with sincerity can open the doors for a meaningful dialogue in future for resolution of seventy year long dispute, that my take subcontinent on the edge of a nuclear war (KNO)
